Grammar

Our Grammar Course is designed to help young learners develop a strong foundation in English grammar, starting from the basics and progressing to more advanced concepts. Through engaging activities and structured lessons, students will gain a deeper understanding of sentence construction, parts of speech, and correct grammar usage. This course is tailored to build confidence in speaking and writing, equipping children with the skills they need to express themselves clearly and accurately.

What is Grammar?

Grammar is the set of rules that govern how words are arranged to create meaningful sentences in a language. It includes the structure of words, phrases, and sentences, as well as how different parts of speech (such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs) work together. Grammar helps ensure that we communicate clearly and effectively, allowing us to express our ideas in a way that others can easily understand.

Courses

Course Levels

Level 1

At this level, children will begin to understand basic grammar concepts, starting with simple sentence structures. They will learn to identify basic parts of speech, such as nouns, verbs, and adjectives. Simple sentence construction will be the focus, teaching children to form sentences like The cat runs or The dog is big. They will also practice using capital letters at the beginning of sentences and periods at the end. Activities will include matching words to pictures, completing simple sentences, and identifying parts of speech in short, clear sentences.

Level 2

In this level, students will build on their understanding of sentence structure and parts of speech. They will learn to recognize pronouns, prepositions, and conjunctions, and understand how they help form complete sentences. Children will practice combining simple sentences using conjunctions like and, but, and because. They will also work on using plural nouns (e.g., cats, dogs) and possessive nouns (e.g., the cat’s toy). The focus will be on forming more varied sentences and understanding subject-verb agreement, such as He runs vs. They run.

Level 3

At this level, children will refine their understanding of more complex grammar concepts. They will work with adverbs, articles (a, an, the), and verb tenses (present, past, and future). Students will practice forming more complex sentences using different tenses, like I have eaten or She will go to the store. They will also explore more complex sentence structures, such as compound and complex sentences, and learn about clauses and phrases. The focus will be on improving sentence variety and ensuring grammatical accuracy, with activities that involve editing sentences for correct grammar and punctuation.
